Sage is a perennial which commonly attains 1-2 feet in height. Sage is used both fresh and dried to season meat, cheese, dressings, etc. There are several varieties of sage which differ in leaf size, plant habit, and leaf color from green, golden-edged, purple or multi-colored. Stem tips about 4-6 inches long are harvested and marketed.
