I. Hawaii State Statutes Chapter 150-A
A. Prohibited
1. all live insects unless listed on the restricted or conditionally approved list
2. honeybees - alive or dead or uncertified used equipment
B. Requirements for importation
1. must be on one of the lists
2. conditions must be set by Board for the introduction
C. Lists
1. Prohibited
2. Restricted (A) = for government agencies, universities
3. Restricted (B) = for private and commercial enterprises with site inspection.
4. Conditional = for private individuals or commercial enterprises

II. Procedures to be Placed on List
A. Make request for importation
B. Entomological Advisory Subcommittee (1 month)
C. Plants & Animals Advisory Committee (every other month)
D. Attorney Generals office (2 weeks to 4 months)
E. Board of Agriculture (monthly)
F. Governors office for approval for public hearings (2-8 weeks)
G. Public Hearing (2 months)
H. Attorney Generals office (2 weeks to 4 months)
I. Board of Agriculture (monthly)
J. Governors office (2 weeks)

III. Procedures for Conditions
A. Make request for conditions
B. Entomological Advisory Subcommittee
C. Plants & Animals Advisory Committee
D, Attorney Generals office
E. Board of Agriculture (TOTAL = 5 to 8 months)
